The Unhoneymooners is the PERFECT beach read. It had a little bit of everything that I look for in a good summer vacation read. It was lighthearted, witty, sexy and most importantly, it was laugh-out-loud funny.
I encourage every woman out there to read this story. It will make you laugh, cry, want to throw a plate against a wall, but most of all, it will inspire you. It is truly a story about discovering who you are in your bones, not the person you want others to see you as.
This story was sweet and savory in the right ways; it gave me all the feels. For her debut novel, Jennifer Gold really created a confection to remember.
June 14th is National Strawberry Shortcake day so I had to make one of my favorite summer dishes to commemorate the day!

Lisa Duffy did a wonderful job highlighting the effects that war can have on not just a soldier, but that soldier’s family. There were numerous heartbreaking moments within the pages that really brought that aspect home to me.
This is truly the perfect beach read. It is entertaining, captivating and terrifying all rolled up into one masterfully told story.

The month of May brought with it some truly phenomenal reads and I am looking forward to what June has in store!
