“Those people who think they have all the power, who think that we have none, we could prove them wrong. We should show them that we can be powerful too. You up here in your shabby tower, me down there on the water, we may not live in elegant homes, we might night have expensive haircuts and foreign holidays and good art on the walls, but that doesn’t make us nothing.”
So, if you pick up this book and go into it thinking that it’ll be a fast-paced story, you will be disappointed. A Slow Fire Burning is definitely a slow build mystery. I wanted to love the story, but there was just too much going on for me. There were lots of characters and multiple timelines to figure out.

🔥 Slow burn
🕵🏽♀️ Felt more like a character study than a thriller/mystery
❌- Death of a child, cruelty to an animal, death of an animal
I recommend you read Slow Fire Burning if you’re a fan of Liane Moriarity books.
