“These are moments where dignity, compassion, and humanity come shining through someone who has known pain, suffering, and loneliness. We chose to learn from those experiences rather than ignoring them..”

When Shane Svorec first reached out to me about her book, I was apprehensive about reading it as it seemed like something I needed to read, but I wasn’t quite ready to read (if that makes sense any sense). In the end, I decided to give it a try, and within the first 25 pages, I was utterly immersed in the story. I loved how Shane speaks to the reader as if they are sitting directly beside her.

Nestled throughout the book are “Baggage Checks,” which are points in the story where Svorec asks the reader to check in and answer a few questions about how they are handling their reading journey. Which, again, made me feel as if Shane were speaking directly to me as a friend.

🥰 Honest and reflective

💪🏼 Shows the true power of the human spirit

✍🏼 Passages allow the reader to reflect on what they’ve read

💗 An immersive experience

It truly is amazing to me how someone who has endured so much could, at the end of the day, become some who has made it their life mission to uplift others. I wish that I had the type of sunshine radiating me as Svorec does. I’m genuinely in awe of her perseverance and strength. I highly recommend taking the time to read (and reflect) Broken Little Believer.

Thank you to the author, Shane Svorec, for the opportunity to read and review her book!

If you were to write a memoir, what would the title be?
