“Grief orbits the heart. Some days the circle is greater. Those are the good days. You have room to move and dance and breathe. Some days the circle is tighter. Those are the bad ones.”
Well, this book was a treat. I first came across this book in January and just looking at the cover, I knew I wanted to read it. Nope, I didn’t read the synopsis. I just knew. Whoever designed the cover – props to you because it’s perfect. Then I read the synopsis and I just knew that I would love the book. And I did.
The entire story felt like one giant hug. It dealt with some heavy topics (parental loss, spousal loss, cancer, drug addiction) but I never once felt like the story weighed me down. I laughed. I cried. I wanted to pop into the book and sit with GUP (everyone needs a GUP, btw) to hear some more “Guncle Rules”.
What I loved:
🙎🏽♂️ Patrick (aka Guncle & GUP)
🥺 How real the book felt to me
🤩 Every single character (including their cranky Aunt).
☝🏼Guncle Rules
🤪 Laugh-out-Loud moments
I hope that you’ll add this one to your reading list because I seriously want everyone to have a chance to follow around Patrick, Maisie, and Grant this summer.
This book is pair best with a Key Lime Pie!
