Time for a few mini-reviews of my recent reads!

The House in the Cerulean Sea ☆☆☆☆☆

It took me a few chapters to get into this story – there was a lot of internal dialogue of the main character and it bothered me. But, then I realized that the reason it bothered me was that I wanted more for him – he deserved more than those terrible people were giving him. Once I was into the story, there was no going back. I became so incredibly attached to all of the characters and their beautiful personalities. I’ve seen that a lot of people have said they’re reading it to their kids as they think their children could learn a lot from it, but honestly, I think we could all take a thing or two away from this story.

Winter Street☆☆☆

I know there are a lot of you who love this series, so please don’t be offended when I say that it was not for me. There was entirely too much drama for my liking (especially for a holiday story). It was honestly a depressing book. I kept waiting for it to get better, but it just fell flat. And that ending? Once I reached the ending, I decided that I wouldn’t be continuing with the series. Maybe I’ll try again next year…

Crazy Stupid Bromance☆☆☆☆☆

Another win from the creative Lyssa Kay Adams. I love the way that she creates her characters and allows them to grow in each book that she writes. I think that there are a lot of men who could learn a lot from the Bromance Book Club. In this friends-to-lovers trope, I think I appreciated that the love between Noah and Alexis was visible from chapter one. The two characters might not have been aware; but as a reader, it was obvious. I’m crossing my fingers that the next installment features The Russian.
