The Guest List

“There are currents in this place that somehow find their way inside, despite closed doors and shut windows. They eddy and caper through the air, they kiss the back of your neck, they a prickle down your spine, soft as the touch of fingertips.”

Thank you @WilliamMorrow Books for gifting me a copy of THE GUEST LIST to read and review!

“Set on a remote island off the Irish coast, this is one guest list no one would want to be on, just as no one would have wanted an invitation to the New Year’s Eve party in Foley’s previous novel, The Hunting Party. Lives unravel amid the revelry on an eerie and remote island as family and friends assemble for a glam wedding in an updated Murder on the Orient Express. Each of the principal characters has a reason to want one of their number dead, there are old secrets, and one of them is murdered.”

I sat down to read a few pages of this book on a Tuesday morning and then the next thing I know, I’ve read 200 pages. I was hooked from start to finish. Lucy Foley is an immensely talented writer and knows the ins and outs of writing a gripping thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

With each chapter, more pieces of the puzzle were laid out in front of me and as I started to put it all together, I was in awe of how perfectly Foley wove all of the wedding guests’ stories together. The last 50 pages were one surprising twist after another.

I can’t wait to see what Lucy Foley writes next!

THE GUEST LIST was picked up by Book of the Month as one of their April choices and was officially published on June 2, 2020.
