Twice in a Blue Moon

Thank you to my friends from Gallery Books for gifting me an advanced copy of Twice in a Blue Moon by Christina Lauren.

“During a whirlwind two-week vacation abroad, Sam and Tate fell for each other in only the way that first loves do: sharing all of their hopes, dreams, and deepest secrets along the way. Sam was the first, and only, person that Tate— the long-lost daughter of one of the world’s biggest films stars— ever revealed her identity. So when it became clear her trust was misplaced, her world shattered for good.

Fourteen years later, Tate, now an up-and-coming actress, only thinks about her first love every once in a blue moon. When she steps onto the set of her first big break, he’s the last person she expects to see. Yet, here Sam is, the same charming, confident man she knew, but even more alluring than she remembered. Forced to confront the man who betrayed her, Tate must ask herself if it’s possible to the wrong thing for the right reason… and whether “once in a lifetime” can come around twice.”

After reading some pretty heavy books over the last few weeks, I was thrilled to have Twice in a Blue Moon arrive on my doorstep. I picked it up and was immediately sucked into this storyline. I love a good long-lost love story (mixed with a few twists and turns) and this book did not disappoint me.

It was entertaining, witty and fresh. Honestly, it was everything that I needed at the time. I read this book in less than 48 hours and was, honestly, a bit disappointed when it was over. I love how Christina Lauren is always capable of creating a character that I can relate to.

I did find the story to be tad predictable but isn’t that nice sometimes? Like I said, after reading some heavy books, I found it so refreshing to settle down and read a book that made me feel comfortable. I also am a sucker for a good book written about the life of someone famous. It was fascinating to read about the behind the scenes work that goes into making a movie; it reignited my love for acting.

I always cherish the books that this duo writes but I think Twice in a Blue Moon may have just become one of my favorite from them. You can never go wrong with Christina Lauren but this book was fantastic. It was warm, touching, funny and a beautiful reminder that yes, “once in a lifetime” can come around twice.

Twice in a Blue Moon will hit the bookstores on October 22nd, add it to your list today!

Thank you, Christina Lauren and Gallery Books for the opportunity to read this book before it’s release date!
